Diagnostic Records

About the Diagnostic Records Appointment

The first step prior to beginning treatment is a 45-minute visit to create a set of diagnostic records.

The diagnostic records include:
~ radiographs (x-rays) of the head and jaw to study facial growth and development
~ digital study casts of teeth
~ photographs of the face and teeth

At the next visit, the Case Presentation, the orthodontist will review the records with adult patients or with the parents/guardians of patients under 18. At this time, the doctor will outline the intended treatment plan, the type of appliances to be used, the length of treatment and the cost.
